Okay, all you contest lovers. As a special favor to all you regular viewers, readers and buffs who've been bugging us about the dearth of Gang Land contests in recent months, we interrupt the summer doldrums with this special July surprise contest.

By now, you've probably noticed the picture at the top right.

Who are these guys? When was this picture taken? And what do the feds think that six of them just did?

We've got a copy of "Gotti: Rise and Fall,"autographed of course, by yours truly and co-author Gene Mustain, for the person who best answers the questions in 35 words or less, including the names of the seven guys in the picture.

Deadline for entries is Sunday, Aug 8. They must be submitted by email, of course. We hope to announce our winner the following Thursday, Aug12, and print the winning entry.

Luckily, our trusty photographer persevered and managed to get a shot of No. 1 showing off his gold watch.

If you look closely you'll notice that, like the other six guys, No. 1 is casually dressed. The short sleeves that all seven are wearing are a dead giveaway that it's summer time.

Here's a little hint about No. 1. He's got a very well known relative he hasn't spoken to in quite a few years.

And for those of you who were hoping for a better view of No. 3, here's a dead-on shot our camera man got of him shaking hands with No. 4. Walking behind them is No. 5, a pretty big guy, who appears to be almost a head taller than No. 3.

So there you have it. Seven guys standing around in Brooklyn in shirtsleeves. Who are they? When was the picture taken? And what did six of them just do?
